Picking the boat by group size

• 8–15 guests — a 50–60 ft yacht. Everyone fits on one deck, conversation stays in one group, and this is the size where a birthday still feels like a dinner rather than an event.
• 15–30 guests — 70–90 ft. Two decks, a proper sound system, room for a buffet table and space to dance.

Food and cake

Catering is booked per set, per guest, and the menus are ready-made so you are choosing rather than designing. The General Menu starts at 90 AED per set, the Best Sellers Menu at 125 AED per set, and the Mega Yacht Menu — lobster, prawns, calamari, mussels, salad and dessert — at 150 AED per set. Birthday cakes are ordered from a separate cake menu; tell your booking manager the name and the number of candles when you confirm the charter, not on the day.

Drinks and the bar

Soft drinks, water and ice come with every charter. Beyond that there are three ways to handle drinks, and the right one usually follows from the size of the group rather than the budget.

Open bar, per person. The Golden Pour package is 275 AED per guest and covers unlimited premium spirits — Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, Bacardi, Don Julio Blanco, Johnnie Walker Black — plus prosecco, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc and rosé, Peroni, Heineken and Corona, and all the mixers, juices and garnishes. It is built around four-hour charters, with a minimum of four guests, and a bartender is required at 750 AED per 15 guests.

Two packages sit on top of it. A cocktail package at 255 AED per guest adds six made-to-order classics — espresso martini, gin basil smash, rum punch, paloma, old fashioned, bellini. A zero-proof package at 165 AED per guest covers guests who do not drink alcohol, with three mocktails made to the same standard rather than an afterthought of juice and soda.

By the bottle. If the group is smaller or the tastes are specific, order from the à la carte list instead — bottles are priced individually with a minimum order of 1,000 AED, and delivery, glassware and crew service are included. There are also ready-made party sets:

Decoration sets start at around 500 AED and come in three tiers — a basic set with balloons, a premium set with more of everything, and a custom design built to a brief. The final price depends on the set and the occasion, so send your manager a reference photo rather than a description.

A photographer starts at 500 AED per hour, with the exact rate depending on the shoot length and package. On a birthday charter the useful booking is the first hour: boarding, cake and the group shot all happen early, and the light before sunset is the reason most people book an evening slot in the first place.

Water toys and what to add for a birthday on the water

Every activity below is booked as an add-on to the charter and runs before sunset, with an instructor and a safety briefing included:

• Jet ski — 600–800 AED per hour, guided, two seats;
• Banana boat — 650–800 AED per hour, up to five riders, the one that works for a mixed-age group;
• Donut ride — 800 AED per hour, towed behind the tender;
• Fly board — 999 AED per hour, one rider at a time, up to five short flights within the hour.
