Decorating the yacht

Decoration is the single most requested addition, and the one that changes the photographs most. Three levels are available, from balloons to a bespoke design built for the occasion.

Photographing the day

A professional photographer joins the charter and shoots against Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab as the route passes them. Photographers are curated by Gold's Yacht rather than booked by the hour from an agency.

Water toys alongside

The toys are brought to the yacht rather than met at a beach station, so a swim stop becomes an hour of activity without changing the route. Each activity is priced separately and several can be combined in one charter.

Music on board

Yachts carry their own sound systems, and for larger charters a DJ or live musician can be arranged to come on board. Pricing depends on the yacht, the length of the charter and the setup, so it is quoted per booking rather than listed here — ask your manager when you book.

Live performers on board

The yacht's own sound system covers a normal evening. Beyond that, the booklet's list is what actually comes on board: a club DJ, a saxophonist, a violinist, a singer, a drummer — or a full VIP sound rig when the group is large enough that the built-in speakers stop being enough.

A musician needs deck space and a power point, so what fits depends on the yacht rather than on the wish. Your manager checks both against the boat you have chosen.

The moment everyone films

Some things exist purely to be the photograph. Fireworks on a button as the yacht turns, rose petals falling from a helicopter, a belly dancer coming out between courses, a Brazilian carnival act on the top deck.

All of these are timed with the captain rather than ordered by the clock: fireworks need the boat in the right place and the right wind, and petals need a helicopter overhead. Tell your manager the moment you want them for — a proposal, a toast, an entrance — and the timing is built backwards from it.

Beyond the yacht

Half of the booklet is not about the boat at all. Guests arrive from somewhere and leave to somewhere, and the day is judged on both ends as much as on the water.

A helicopter or a private jet for the arrival, a first-class car or a bus for the group, security and a hostess for a public event, an island taken privately for the whole day. These are arranged the same way as everything else — through your manager, before you sail, priced up front.

If you would rather join something already running

The mega yacht brunch aboard the 220 ft Lotus is a scheduled cruise with the entertainment, food and drinks already arranged: Westin Hotel live cooking stations, unlimited five-star drinks and a swim stop at JBR. Tickets run from 149.50 AED standard to 499 AED VIP per person.

Discretion is part of the service

Many of our guests charter privately and expect the day to stay private. We treat that as a condition of the booking, not an extra: what is arranged on board, who is on board and what is discussed there stays between you and your manager.

On request we select the crew and service staff to your criteria, and brief them before you sail. Tell your manager what matters — language, gender of the service team, dress, whether staff remain on deck or step back between courses — and it is arranged before you arrive rather than negotiated in front of your guests.
