The honest answer to “how much does it cost to rent a yacht in Dubai” is a range so wide it is nearly useless: from 399 to 35,300 AED an hour. So instead of quoting a range, we measured our own fleet — 144 boats currently on charter, every hull measured, every published rate — and wrote down what the numbers say. Nothing here is an estimate.
What an hour on the water actually costs
Across the 144 yachts we charter in Dubai today, the median rate is 2,000 AED per hour. The spread around it matters more than the median:
- 34 boats are under 1,000 AED/hr
- 37 boats sit between 1,000 and 2,000
- 37 boats between 2,000 and 5,000
- 36 boats are above 5,000
The cheapest is 399 AED/hr; the largest yacht on the list is 35,300.
What that hour includes — and what it does not
Crew, fuel and onboard equipment are included in the hourly rate. 5% VAT is not, and it is added on top. The minimum booking is three hours, and cancellation is free up to seven days before the charter.
Those four facts are worth confirming with any operator before you compare prices, because not everyone prices the same way. A rate that looks 20% cheaper stops looking cheaper once fuel is billed separately.
Two yachts advertised as “70 ft” can differ five times in price
This is the part that makes price comparison in Dubai genuinely hard. We grouped our fleet by the size each boat is sold as, then measured the hulls and listed the rates:

Read the “70 ft” row again. Eleven boats carry that label. The shortest measures 59 feet and the longest 70 — and the price between them moves by a factor of five.
The label, in other words, tells you very little. Age, last refit, interior condition, crew size and which marina the boat lies in all move the rate, and none of them appear in the name.
The number in the name is not the length of the boat
We measured every hull we charter against the size it is sold under. On 141 of 144 boats the advertised size is larger than the measured hull, with a median gap of five feet.
It is worst at the top of the market. A yacht advertised in Dubai as “150 ft” measures, in our fleet, between 110 and 140 feet — the median is 128. If you are comparing a “150” against a “140” from two different companies, you may well be comparing the same boat length at two different prices.

What it costs for the size of your group
Capacity moves price more predictably than length does. From the same 144 boats:
- 10 or more guests — 140 boats available, from 399 AED/hr, median 1,850
- 20 or more — 103 boats, from 549, median 3,000
- 30 or more — 64 boats, from 949, median 3,500
- 50 or more — 34 boats, from 1,500, median 5,995
- 100 or more — 16 boats, from 3,000, median 7,250
A three-hour charter for a group of twenty therefore starts near 1,650 AED all-in at the bottom of the market, and sits around 9,000 at the median. Both are real boats on our list today.
Five questions that make two quotes comparable
- What is the measured length overall? Not the model name — the LOA on the registration.
- What does the hourly rate include? Crew and fuel should be in it. If they are not, ask for the total.
- What is the minimum booking? Three hours is normal in Dubai. Two-hour offers usually spend forty minutes of it getting in and out of the marina.
- Is VAT included? 5% is added in the UAE, and quotes differ on whether it is shown.
- What is the cancellation window? Ours is seven days at 100%. Shorter windows are common and are worth pricing in.
