How to Host a Product Launch on a Yacht in Dubai

A product launch has one job: make a room full of people remember your brand the next morning. In Dubai that room is increasingly not a ballroom but a yacht. The guest list is fixed by the boat, nobody drifts off to another event halfway through, and the skyline does the staging that would cost a fortune to build on land.

Below is how a launch on the water actually works – from choosing the yacht by headcount to the run of show, branding, bar and paperwork – with a real event we hosted as the example.

A real launch: 120 guests, one evening, one yacht

On 9 May 2025 we hosted the regional launch of a new product line for an aesthetic-medicine company. 120 guests – doctors, distributors, partners and press – boarded at sunset and stayed until late in the evening. The programme ran in three acts: welcome drinks and a branded photo wall on arrival, a short presentation in the main salon, then live music on the upper deck as the yacht cruised past the city lights, with a laser show over the water to close the night.

What made it work was not any single element but that everything was booked as one event: the yacht, the crew, the service team, the bar, the musicians, the photographer and the lighting came on one quote and one timeline, with one booking manager responsible for all of it.

Step 1: choose the yacht by headcount, not by photos

The licensed guest capacity is the one hard limit on a yacht. Start with the number of people you expect to board – not the invite list – and the shortlist writes itself:

  • 20-40 guests – a 70-90 ft yacht. Right for a press preview or a VIP dinner where everyone is part of one conversation.
  • 40-100 guests – 100-150 ft, with separate decks so the presentation, the bar and the music do not compete.
  • 100-300 guests – superyachts and event yachts such as Atlant 160 (up to 280 guests), SeaSprite 160 (up to 250) and Opal 240 (up to 300).
  • 300-800 guests – Mega 275, which takes up to 800 guests for a company-wide launch or a brand activation.

The full list, sorted with the largest yachts first, is on our corporate yacht charter page.

Step 2: build the run of show around sunset

A launch on the water has a natural rhythm. A typical four-hour evening looks like this:

  1. Boarding and welcome (30 min). Guests arrive at the berth, step onto the yacht past a branded backdrop and get a welcome drink. This is your photo moment – put the photo wall where every guest passes it.
  2. Sunset cruise (45 min). The yacht leaves the marina while the light is best. Canapés and the bar open; people mingle.
  3. The presentation (20-30 min). In the salon or on the main deck, with a screen, microphone and sound. Keep it short – the setting is already doing half the work.
  4. Dinner and entertainment (90 min). Buffet on deck or plated service, with a DJ, a live band or both.
  5. The closing moment (15 min). A laser or light show over the water, a toast, the final photos with the skyline behind.

Step 3: branding and staging

Everything that makes a launch feel like yours is booked with the yacht: a branded backdrop and photo wall, your logo in the decor, screens, sound and lighting, flowers and table styling. See what is possible on our yacht decorations and entertainment pages. Tell your manager the format early – the staging decides which deck, and sometimes which yacht, fits.

Step 4: bar and catering for a corporate group

Corporate groups get their own bar packages, priced per person and built for 20 guests and more, with a supervisor, waiters and bartenders included: Standard at AED 215, Premium at AED 315 and Royal at AED 475 per person. A zero-proof bar is a proper menu, not juice and soda. Details are on the beverages page.

Menus are priced per guest: a General menu from AED 90, Best Sellers from AED 125 and a Mega Yacht menu with lobster and prawns from AED 150. For a launch the practical question is not which menu but how it is served – see catering.

Step 5: the paperwork procurement will ask for

A written quote, a company contract and a VAT invoice are standard. Ask for all three in the same message and they come back together. For December, January and Friday or Saturday sunset slots in high season, start six to eight weeks ahead: the largest yachts go first.
